Headquartered in Sutton, Alaska, Synclaire’s Honey Spot is an in-progress apiary and sanctuary that was founded in 2018 to preserve the Earth and save the honeybees by earth keeper and beekeeper Synclaire Butler.

A native of Anchorage, Alaska and magna cum laude graduate of Spelman College with a B.A. in Comparative Woman's Studies, Synclaire created the Honey Spot as a sanctuary of sweetness and center of preservation for herself, her ancestors, and community.

Synclaire is a Decolonial Black Feminist, womanist, warrior-poet, activist, artist, performer, model, entrepreneur, model and doula. Born and raised on Dena'Ina Land, her world travels and activism for the rights of survivors of sexual and domestic violence, and the Black and LGBTQ+ community has influenced her artistry. She has participated in research projects in Brazil and the Netherlands, as well as attended conferences and excursions in Canada, Morocco, Portugal and Ireland to further learn how to be a citizen of the world, weaving together a space of unity and community.

Synclaire's Honey Spot can be described as a space where Synclaire's ancestors meet her contemporaries, her twerking meets her literature and her love meets her honey.
